3rd Grade Instructional Basketball 2025- 2026
The SICYO 3rd Grade Instructional Program is all about fun while learning to play the game of basketball. Over the course of 7 weeks, the players will learn FUNdamentals including jump stops, pivoting, dribbling, ball handling, layups, shooting, offensive & defensive footwork, triple threat, and passing. Players from the local high schools’ girls’ and boys’ varsity teams, along with seasoned coaches, will assist the 3rd graders each week to ensure steady improvement. All participants will receive a T-shirt and a basketball at the first session.
Players must wear the shirt and bring his/her basketball every week.
Mike Thomas will be leading the sessions each week. Mike retired in 2015 from St. Ignatius College Preparatory in San Francisco where he was a counselor, teacher, and coach for 39 years. Mike is a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist. He has been coaching basketball for almost 50 years.

9 years in the St. Ignatius College Prep. Girls Basketball Program (All Levels)
14 volunteer years in the St. Isabella CYO Basketball Program
9 volunteer years in the Hamilton Meadow School Basketball Program.
